Caregiver

The two new Caregiver Pilot Programs introduced by the government of Canada in 2019 are the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot which are both accepting applications. These two new pilot programs replaced the Caring for Children and Caring for People with High Medical Needs Programs. The expired programs were labeled as “ineffective” for keeping a high percentage of workers in abusive workplaces and apart from their families abroad. Caregivers have now the opportunity to work in Canada without separating from their immediate family. Under the new pilot programs, applicants will be assessed for permanent residency criteria before they begin their work in Canada, becoming the most straight forward pathway to Canadian permanent residency.
