Our first step is to verify the validity of all candidate’s documentation including certificates, diplomas, work experience and a background check for medical and criminal records. After our deep screening is complete, we will send you minimum 5 candidates’ resumes who are qualified and eligible to work in Canada for your perusal. In this step, we recommend you to attentively review each resume and chose the candidates you would like to interview.
After the candidate selection, we will schedule an online interview between you, the candidates of your preference, and a CPC representative who would act as mediator. In this step, we would like you to get to know the candidate at a personal level and ask questions regarding their skills, experience, lifestyle habits, conditions of stay, and any other important information to reassure the candidate is able to provide the care needed.
If there is an agreement, an application package will be sent for your review and signature. This application package includes an offer letter template and a non-binding contract*1 with the candidate. This contract may be cancelled at any time without any financial repercussions.
If you are applying for elder care, we would also need you to provide us with the medical records of your family member(s) in need of our service.
The Government of Canada requires us to ask for financial proof of CAD 65,000 plus annual income to make sure that you are capable to pay the candidate’s salary.
After receiving all documentation, Caregiver Placement Canada will arrange all matters regarding the employee’s arrival which may take 3-4 months before the candidate’s first day of work. (Due to the COVID-19 pandemic processing time may be delayed)
During the first weeks of work, Caregiver Placement Canada will monitor the candidate’s performance and living conditions. There might be a 15-minutes scheduled visit to your family’s household for security purposes which we will notify to the house owner with enough anticipation.
After all parties are content with the arrangements made, you, the employer, will be responsible to pay the employee his/her salary to his/her direct bank account biweekly. Both parties will also be responsible to try to resolve all matters of discussion by communicating with each other. Caregiver Placement Canada will only be available for assistance once both parties have tried and failed to come to an agreement*2.
- *1 Our non-biding contract reassures the employer agrees to offer a minimum of 35 hours per week with a salary of CAD $15.75 per hour or the basic pay established by the Provincial Government. If the employee is expected to live-in within the family’s household, the candidate may be available for assistance 24 hours a day (with 2-3 breaks in between) with the base pay of 8 hours per day.
- *2 In the case both parties are unable to reach to an agreement, Caregiver Placement Canada will start the process of replacement with the first step of this list. Replacement procedures will depend on the availability of other candidates and, in some cases, they may not be available. In the case another candidate is available, these procedures will take up to 2-4 weeks.
